five senses friday

We’re getting ready to head to my favourite place before we settle down again. This week has been about getting ready for new schedules. I’ve been tidying, sorting and sprucing up. Am I the only one that does fall cleaning instead of spring cleaning?

(I made this envelope throw pillow with some fabric from Bookhou backed with a sashiko print in the same grey.)

It’s also been an emotional week: we came together, we said goodbye to a dear friend we’ve come to think of as part of the family, and we lost a great man. I’m ready for something good now. Looking forward to a relaxing week ahead. On with the senses!

seeing: my easily worried boy ride a bike for the first time!

feeling: a great sense of loss for our country and personally.

hearing: him read bedtime stories again.

smelling: fresh Okanagan peaches.

tasting: his steel cut oats with butter and peaches for breakfast.
