One of our little excursions out of Winnipeg took us to the family farm in nearby Komarno. It’s close to the lake and in a beautiful part of the countryside. The scale of everything was so vast yet quaint and small at the same time. It was just lovely.

And so full of textures . . .

It was so good for our city boys to see this and really experience the space and different way of life. I didn’t get any pictures of them but one of the highlights for them was to climb in and around grandpa’s derelict cars. Now that was an experience they certainly wouldn’t have in the city!

I’ve posted more photos on flickr.

  1. Sounds like it was a great time had by all!! Photos are excellent….rustic and lots of character. If only those buildings could talk……what a story they’d tell!! I’m sure the homestead loved hearing happy voices of little children and feeling tiny feet running through the grass again. At one time that yard resonated with all those happy sounds.
