We are well into TV turnoff week and for the most part we are doing very well. On Monday we made a nature box. On Tuesday we filled it with wonderful things that we found on our walk to school.
Of course, with Tuesday being Earth Day, we also learned about recycling, used our cloth bags for groceries, walked to school and practiced turning off lights. My little one has become a bit militant about reducing our electricity usage. He is very keen to run his battery operated train since doesn’t need to be plugged in. I love the way little brains work! Our only hitch yesterday was having two children with ear infections. Baby screaming in pain and needing extra attention trumps no TV week. We turned it on for just an hour though. Hopefully, we won’t have to do it again.
After things settled down, we made some puppets and wrote a little story about a sleepy dog (mommy) who lets the little sheep (William) run all over the farm and make a big mess. We haven’t yet acted it out since the puppet theatre was taken over by a lego boat that needed to do some rescuing. I can’t wait to see what kind of adventures we get up to today.
